Get More Out of MORE

10 ways to maximize your retreat weekend

  1. Arrange transportation. Flying here? Order a shuttle to the resort, plan to Uber it or contact the resort to arrange transportation.

  2. Check the schedules. Before you head to Marana, Ariz., for MORE: the retreat, take time to peruse the adults’ schedule and kids’ schedule. Make notes about the sessions you absolutely want to attend. And if you have any issues with the kids’ activities, let us know ASAP.

  3. Talk to your partner and family. If you’re bringing your family with you (and we hope you are!), talk to them about your plans. Ask your partner if they have any sessions they’d like to attend with you. (Tell them if you want them there.) Let them know if you want your photo session to be a family photo. The clearer your communication can be, the less frustration there will be.

  4. Check out the resort amenities and restaurants. The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain is amazing! Thinking you might want to dine at one of the on-property restaurants Saturday night for date night? Scope out the offerings in advance. If you or spouse wants to plan an early round of golf or have a spa treatment, don’t forget about the discounts available to MORE attendees!

  5. Review your personalized retreat schedule right away. When you arrive at the Ritz-Carlton, you’ll receive your personalized retreat schedule. Review it right away so you know what your specific time commitments will be.

  6. Read up on the experts. Check out our experts’ bios and specialty areas so you can make sure you’re able to connect with everyone you want to at the retreat.

  7. Prepare your questions for your 1:1s in advance. Twenty minutes goes by so fast. Squeeze as much useful information out of your 1:1 sessions as possible by preparing in advance. What questions do you want answered? Write them down so you don’t forget. Bring copies of your marketing collateral or business plan if appropriate. Or have your computer or tablet with you to  access digital files if you need them.

  8. Pack your business cards now. Don’t leave home without them.

  9. Plan on working on you and your business. The weekend is designed to focus on you, your family and your business. Try to leave your day-to-day operations for another day so you can use this time to think strategically and grow.

  10. Extend your stay. The retreat officially kicks off at 3:45 p.m. Friday. Be sure to arrive on time. Several guests will be arriving early to get settled in and enjoy the resort. Several others plan on staying late on Sunday. Or stay an extra day or two for some additional R&R. To get our special rate, add days now.
